PERFORMANCE RACING RETURNS FOR THE 2001 ASA SEASON January 30, 2001 - Baltimore, Md J.C. Beattie, Jr.'s ATI Performance Racing team will return to compete in the American Speed Association (ASA) ACDelco 2001 series. Although the team has undergone some crew changes during the off-season, J.C. is confident that the team is on the right track. "The team is in much better shape than it was a year ago at this time," said Beattie, Jr. "We have a season of ASA racing experience behind us and these changes should not lead to any major setbacks. "ATI Performance Racing will continue its relationship with primary sponsor ATI Performance Products, Inc. for 2001. ATI has supported J.C.'s racing endeavors for many years and is proud to lend their support to this exciting young racer. Other companies that will be assisting ATI Performance Racing during the 2001 season are: RUS Uniforms, Winters Performance, Valvoline, Jay Dee Supply, Auto Meter, and CV Products. J.C. said, regarding the 2001 season, "I stated at the beginning of last season that I would use 2000 to learn all I could about my cars, the various tracks, and to earn all the rookie points that I could. Now, with a full season of ASA experience behind me, I am ready to make my mark in the ASA. I feel confident with the testing that we have done and I can't wait for the first race in St. Augustine." Beattie, Jr. won the first qualifying race of the 2000 season at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL and finished an impressive 10th place in the main event. He will return to Florida in mid-February with every intention of bettering his previous performances. The ATI Performance Racing crew is also optimistic about the team's chances for the 2001 season and will focus on increasing the level of consistency for the #09 ATI Performance Products Monte Carlo from one event to the next. The first race of the ASA ACDelco 2001 season, the ASAracing.com 300, will be run on Saturday, February 17 at Florida Speed Park in St. Augustine, FL.
