SUCCESSFUL TEST AT FLORIDA SPEED PARK
February 2, 2001 - St. Augustine, Fl

ATI Performance Racing left the cold winter weather of Baltimore, MD in search of the sunny skies of central Florida for two days of intensive testing. ATI Performance Racing was welcomed to Florida by several hours of torrential rain on the first day of testing. Several local racers and mechanics were in attendance and provided the ATI Performance Racing crew with valuable track and setup information that eventually would pay dividends.

Although it was extremely damp, the ATI Performance Racing crew wasted no time in integrating this new information into the #09 ATI Performance Products Monte Carlo's suspension package. By early Friday afternoon, J.C. Beattie, Jr., returning driver of the #09, was able to put in a number of laps and give the crew some useful baseline information on how the racecar was performing on the track. Saturday proved to be overcast and chilly, but dry. The ATI Performance Racing team was able to log almost 500 laps on Saturday and was pleased with the results. Beattie, Jr. said after Saturday's testing, "I felt really comfortable in the car. The #09 was deceptively quick throughout most of today's test session."

ATI Performance Racing will spend the next few weeks putting the finishing touches on its racecars in preparation for the American Speed Association's (ASA's) first race on February 17th at Florida Speed Park in St. Augustine, FL.

The ASAracing.com 300 will be televised live on TNN Sports at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern)
