J.C. BRINGS BLACK MAGIC TO JENNERSTOWN
August 26, 2001 - Jennerstown, PA

ATI and J.C.Beattie were happy to return to Jennerstown for the Pennsylvania 300 on Sunday. Thousands of race fans were on hand at the Somerset County fair, where the "Black Magic" # 09 ATI race car was on display for all to see. J.C. and several other ASA drivers were there signing autographs and meeting the fans.

J.C. would start the race from the 24th spot in the field. After only a couple of laps, the brakes on the car started going away.J.C felt that, "the car was tight for the first part of the race but Dwayne got it handling real well by mid-race."

The ATI Performance Racing team would not give up and improved the car on each pit stop. "The car had some braking issues today," commented J.C., "but the guys worked hard all day and we gained alot of places out there on the track."

Johnny Sauter went on to win the race, extending his ASA record with 10 wins. Defending champion, Gary St. Amant came in second, after leading 52 laps, and pitting from the lead with a flat tire. Veteran Mike Eddy got the last spot on the podium with his third place finish.

Outside pole sitter Butch Miller finished fourth, while Madison’s winner, Robbie Pyle, turned in another fine performance with fifth.

Also announced at Jennerstown was the agreement reached by Viacom, TNN and the American Speed Association to drop the lawsuit file by the sanctioning body regarding the decision to tape delay two events on the 2001 ASA ACDelco Series schedule.

The agreement specifies that the Miller Lite 300 at the Minnesota State Fair Park on Labor Day, September 3, will air on a tape-delayed basis, at 12:30 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, September 4, and will re-air on Saturday, September 8, at 4 p.m. Eastern.

The season ending Tirerack.com 200 on September 29 at Indianapolis Raceway Park will air live, at 8 p.m. Eastern. The start time for the Tirerack.com 200 has been moved up by one-hour to 8 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. local).

ASA returns to action next Monday, on Labor Day, at the Minnesota State Fair Speedway is St. Paul, Minnesota.
