ATI Performance Racing chose the Chicago 200 to unveil the new "Black Magic" car. The #09 was painted in a similar style to Jim Beattie's legendary fuel funny car of the 70's. However, J.C.'s lamp was rubbed one too many times, as he was sent into a spin on lap 16, and had the wrong tire on his car late in the race.
