		J.C. ran into some more bad luck in the Texas Roadhouse 300 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Shortly after the race began, the throttle began to stick open, making the car extremely unpredictable and dangerous. The # 09 was brought into the pits to address the problem and fell six laps down. Things only got worse when Russ Tuttle, who collided wth J.C. in the last Iowa race, spun Beattie Jr. into the wall. J.C. would go on to finish out of the top 10.
